On January 25, the San Marco Council of Catholic Women (CCW) celebrated their annual fundraising fashion show event. Nearly 300 women attended the show, which included a lunch catered by Frisco’s and countless door prizes.

The theme this year was “Stepping into Fashion.” Shoes, an essential part to any stylish outfit, were at the forefront. Each table was equipped with a centerpiece that included a pair of pumps, stilettos, kitten heels, or fashionable wedges.

A mimosa bar manned by Al Bismonte stood in the entrance area. As guests arrived, they were able to grab a drink and socialize with one another. Before sitting down for lunch, the ladies were also able to purchase tickets for a chance to win a number of special gift baskets provided by local businesses and organizations.

After lunch was served and the last of the mimosas were passed out, it was time for the fashion show to commence. Members of the CCW walked the catwalk, modeling trendy items provided by local clothing stores Beach Daisy and Kay’s on the Beach. After making their way across the stage, the models would then weave through the crowd to give the attendees a closer look at the styles available.

The fashion show serves as the CCW’s most important fundraising event of the year. The funds raised will go towards the various causes that the council supports, such as The Center for Abused Women and Children and St. Matthew’s House. Money will also go towards the CCW’s scholarship fund.

“This is the Council of Catholic Women’s main event of the year and it’s a blessing to all the ladies in the parish,” said Rev. Timothy Navin. “It’s really an event for the whole parish and for the whole community.”

Door prizes were provided by:
Beach Daisy, CCW Gift Shop, Chloe’s Boutique, Kay’s on the Beach, Marco Consignment, Marco Island Florist, Sandpiper Clothiers, Starbucks, Your Island Home, and Something Olde, Something New.
