Special Message to all Veterans

Every November 11, we as Americans can take time to reflect on the past and express our appreciation for all those that have fought for the freedom we enjoy today. My father served in both World War II and the Korean War, so every Veterans Day is special for me when I think about the sacrifices of all of the men and women who served in our armed forces.

To our veterans across the globe, on behalf of all of my colleagues in the Florida Senate, thank you to all those that have served our country. Your patriotism and dedication to our nation are what makes this country a shining example of freedom and liberty for all the world. Those of us who have never had the opportunity to serve can never fully understand the sacrifices made nor can we walk in our heroes’ shoes but what we can do is to make sure our veterans are fully recognized for their service and do all that we can to ensure that their legacy is always honored.

Florida is currently home to upwards of 1.5 million veterans. As a State Senator, I am committed to working with Governor Scott and my colleagues in the Legislature to enact policies that make Florida the most veteran-friendly state in the nation. Every veteran should know that in Florida we have our arms wide open in appreciation of all that they have done for our nation.

Sincerely, Kathleen C. Passidomo State Senator, District 28
