Special COVID-19 Message

Dear Friend of Rookery Bay,

We hope you and your family and friends are taking precautions and are in good health. To help safeguard the health and safety of our community and protect 40% of your coastline in Collier County, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection in cooperation with Rookery Bay Research Reserve and Friends of Rookery Bay have closed/canceled the following until further notice.
  • Rookery Bay Environmental Learning Center and events/programs
  • Shell Island Road, the boat ramp and the kayak launch
  • Volunteer support for programs and public outreach
  • Friends of Rookery Bay boat tours, programs and fundraiser
During this closure, our environment still needs our care. Both Friends of Rookery Bay and Rookery Bay Research Reserve continue to work on behalf of the community to keep our public educated and environment healthy.
