For the second year, the Southwest Florida Brew Crafters Club came to the Food and Music Festival on Saturday afternoon with brew concoctions for festival-goers to sample. Attendees, over 21 of course, were able to sample the brews presented. Each taster was given a chip so they could “vote” for their favorite brew.

The Southwest Florida Brew Crafters started in 2015. Their mission is to explore their hobby through promotion and education of home brewing. The winning beer, brewed by Cass Palmer, was a Dunkel Lager, a smooth, full-bodied beer. Second place was a hoppy IPA, brewed by Jason Lamay. Other contestants were Allen Steen with his cheery vanilla sour, and Roy Tomash who had two beers. He had a Saison and a Bock. (Roy was last year’s first place winner.) According to the brew masters participating, “We hope to be back and look forward to next year’s competition.”
