The year, the students and staff from Tommie Barfield Elementary, Marco Island Academy, Marco Island Charter Middle School, Lely High School and Marco Island Parks and Recreation have joined the Souper Bowl committee to hand paint one thousand bowls for this “Souper” annual event. The beautifully decorated bowls will be available for sale at Mackle Park for $15 each on Saturday, February 6th beginning at 11 AM. Attendees buying bowls will also have the opportunity to sample fine homemade soups from Big Cypress Culinary, Ciao Bella, CJ’s on the Bay, Mango’s Dockside Bistro,Marker 8.5, Petit Soleil, Philly Grille, Quinn’s on the Beach, Speakeasy Restaurant and Stonewalls. In addition, local artists Kim Belange, Don Harthorn, Judy Harthorn, Betty Newman, Nancy Norman, Katherine O’Hara, Tara O’Neill, Bruce Robertson, JoAnn Sanborn, Donald Sunshine, Joanna Sunshine, Karen Swanker, Malenda Trick, and the Clay Guild from the Marco Island Center for the Arts, have painted bowls that will be auctioned off that day.
