It’s not about being against immigration or immigrants,
it’s about doing things legally.
The United States must be the only country without full control of her borders. This is not just crazy but it is also very dangerous in the world we live in today.
Germany, France, Sweden and Belgium learned about having open borders recently. By letting millions of “refugees” from the chaotic Middle Eastern countries without background checks and proper vetting processes, they ended up letting hardcore terrorists into their countries, sent there by ISIS leaders and operators.
The results have been deadly.
So, when Presidential candidate Donald Trump promised to tighten border security and inflow of undocumented refugees and illegal aliens into our country during the 2016 election cycle, more than 60 million Americans voted for him. He is now President Trump and he did something no other politician ever did before; he kept his promise.
On January 26, 2017, staying true to his promises, he signed an executive order banning nationals of seven countries with a history of exporting terrorism from entering the United States for at least the next 90 days.
The executive order bars all people hailing from Iraq, Syria, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen. These countries were named in a 2016 law concerning immigration visas as “countries of concern.” The executive order also bans entry of those fleeing from war-torn Syria indefinitely.
The President’s executive order also has stopped the admission of all refugees to the United States for four months.
The order also calls for a review into suspending the Visa Interview Waiver Program, which allows travelers from 38 countries — including close allies — to renew travel authorizations without an in-person interview.
Of course, the dishonest media led by the New York Times and the likes of CNN and MSNBC immediately started to spread their lies that this was a “Muslim ban on immigration.” How dishonest can these people get?
Dishonest media was closely followed by the dishonest politicians: Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Dick Durban and the like getting TV time to blast the President.
Of course, Justin Trudeau, the Socialist Prime Minister of Canada had to chime in and welcome all refugees to go to Canada. I welcome this and hope they all do go to Canada!
I am compelled to define a few terms which are being so misused and abused by a bunch of dishonest politicians and their minions, the dishonest members of the press.
People who come in to the United States without visas and intend to stay here without proper paperwork and process are not “immigrants.” They are “illegal aliens.” It is most convenient for the dishonest politicians who see every illegal alien as a possible vote for them or their party to bundle all legal immigrants and illegal aliens into the same definition and call them “immigrants.” By doing this, they try to fool the public by calling anyone who opposes illegal immigration a variety of names they invented, such as xenophobic, Islamophobic, anti-immigrant, un-American, etc.
It is so convenient for this crew to put all of us, immigrants and citizens, who want strong border security for our country in this fake and phony definition of “immigrant.” As a legal immigrant to this wonderful country, let me explain what goes through my mind when I hear these fools who think they know more than the regular, everyday person.
I applied for residency in the United States of America, took an exam on the American system of government and, as required by law, received a green card which I kept for five years, at which time I applied for citizenship, becoming a citizen on November 18, 1978. No, I did not jump ship in Miami; No, I did not run through border fences; No, I did not overstay my student visa! That, therefore, makes me a “legal immigrant.”
President Trump ran for election on the promise of making our borders strong and getting rid of “criminal illegal aliens” that populate our cities, commit crimes then get protected by so called “sanctuary cities.” We should never forget some of our citizens murdered by these illegal aliens.
Tessa Tranchant, 16, was killed on March 30, 2007 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Tessa and her friend, Ali Kunhardt were sitting at a stoplight when Alfredo Ramos, an illegal alien from Mexico who was intoxicated and speeding, rear-ended their car. Ramos had a history of prior convictions, but due to Virginia Beach’s sanctuary policies, he was never detained. He was charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter and sentenced to 40 years in prison.
Sarah Root, 21, from Omaha, Nebraska was killed on January 31, 2016. Her SUV was rear-ended by Eswin Mejia, an illegal alien from Honduras who was street racing. Sarah had just graduated from Bellevue University with a 4.0 GPA the day before she passed away. Omaha is in Douglas County, Nebraska, which has sanctuary policies that impede local law enforcement’s ability to cooperate with ICE officers. Mejia was charged with motor vehicular homicide but posted bond to get out of jail and was released. He is still on the run.
Roberto Galo, an unlicensed driver from Honduras who entered the U.S. illegally but earned temporary protective status (TPS), killed Drew Rosenberg, a second-year law student, on November 16, 2010 in San Francisco, California. Rosenberg was riding his motorcycle when Galo ran over him three times with his car. Galo was convicted of vehicular manslaughter and sentenced to six months in jail. USCIS refused to deport him and he was released after serving only 43days. Thanks to the Rosenberg family’s activism, Galo was finally deported on April 4, 2013.
Grant Ronnebeck was murdered by Apolinar Altamirano, an illegal alien from Mexico, on January 22, 2015 in Mesa, Arizona. Ronnebeck was shot over a pack of cigarettes while he was working his shift at a convenience store. Altamirano was out on bond from a previous conviction while ICE determined whether he should be deported when he killed Ronnebeck.
And who can forget Kate Steinle who was walking on a busy pier in San Francisco with her father when there was a single popping sound in the air. She fell to the ground, struck by a bullet, the victim of what police say appears to be a random killing. The man accused of firing the deadly shot – 45-year-old Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez – is an undocumented immigrant, a repeat felon who has been deported five times to Mexico, according to immigration officials. He had come to San Francisco, a so-called sanctuary city, where he was not turned over to immigration officials.
There are many, many more cases of illegal aliens who were protected by “sanctuary cities” and their dishonest mayors and politicians, who defied deportations and killed innocent citizens of our country.
When signing the executive order, President Trump also reiterated his position on “extreme vetting.” One may want to know what this “extreme vetting” is all about…
The United States has consulates all around the world. These are, in effect, U.S. territories in foreign countries, established and protected by treaties between nations. These consulates act like Forward Operating Bases (FOB) our military establishes when in conflict with a country in whose territories we are fighting a war. Dotted all around large bases and manned by very competent military personnel, their job is to make sure that no “unauthorized person” enters the perimeter of an American military base they are charged with protecting!
Our consulates, in theory, must act in a similar fashion. When persons living in foreign countries want to visit or immigrate to the United States of America for one reason or another, they go to the Consulate of the USA in their home country and make an application for a visitor’s visa or an immigration request. The duty of the consular officer in that country is to check the background of these persons thoroughly to make sure they do not have any dark secrets in their backgrounds; that they have not been convicted of any crimes; that they do not support or belong to any known terror organizations. This takes a while, and once the background checks are completed to the satisfaction of the immigration officer, these persons will be called for an interview and asked several questions. If the background check and the interview are satisfactory, these persons are issued various types of visas to either visit the USA as a tourist or to conduct business or to start their immigration process.
This is fine if all the above is done in a serious and thorough manner. Recent events showed us that the process, which is called “vetting,” was flawed at best and downright unenforced at worst. The case of the husband and wife terrorists in San Bernardino, California proves my point. These people were not vetted properly. The evidence, which was out in front of the consular officers (Facebook page of the terrorists), was never looked into. As a result, 14 were killed and 22 were seriously injured. Had these two been properly vetted, 14 people would be alive today! Do we think the consular employee was punished? No!
Therefore, when President Trump signed an executive order asking for border security, “extreme vetting” became important!
Let me remind everyone that, “no one has a right to immigrate to America. Americans have the unfettered right to decide who should come to America and who should not be allowed in; and that immigration should be judged on whether it benefits America and Americans, not on whether it is good for the immigrants.”
One of the major lies spread around by the dishonest media, politicians and their minions is that “we are all immigrants.” Yes, most of us are immigrants who played by the rules, acted properly and within the law and therefore we are legal immigrants and we are not “illegal aliens.” And we do not wish to be categorized along with them as “immigrants.”
President Trump will prevail in this fight because he is protecting America and Americans.
The protesters will protest since they have a right to do so under our Constitution. Soon, I expect the supporters of Mr. Trump’s executive order to also hit the streets protesting the protesters because it is also their right to do so.
No matter what happens, executive orders of the President will remain in force.
America will be a better place once we all shed our partisan covers and start thinking “America first.” I know that day will come too.
A quiet revolution took place in America on November 8, 2016. To those who do not get it, who refuse to believe it and who continue to fight against it, I say get over it.
Europeans learned the consequences of letting all so called “refugees” into their countries without any vetting process (let alone, extreme vetting) the hard way. We don’t have to!
There is a new leader of the free world in the White House. And he has many powers under the Constitution to “make America great again!” And when America is great again, the rest of the world will follow suit.
And, ladies and gentlemen, I am confident that America will be great again…
