Local attorney William G. Morris announced today a series of small business seminars designed to educate business owners and those thinking about starting a business. Small Businesses – Big Issues will explore issues of concern and how to deal with them. The series will be free to participants, but due to limited seating, reservations are encouraged.

The seminars will focus on issues of concern to business owners, many of which are over looked or handled on a “catch as catch can” basis. Morris explained, “There is a real need for information by small business owners. They often come to me with a problem that could have been avoided if they had knowledge and opportunity ahead of time. We hope to fill that gap in knowledge and opportunity by providing these seminars.”

Morris has been a practicing attorney in Collier County for over 30 years. His practice includes business formation, contracts, business purchase and sale, real estate and litigation. His long tenure in Collier County has provided legal experience in a wide variety of small business issues.

The series is a concept that Morris had been working on for over a year. He was approached by local financial advisor Kevin O’Fee to speak at a presentation on financial planning, and after some discussion Morris asked O’Fee to speak in the small business seminar series Morris is sponsoring. “Kevin asked me to work with him on a presentation he was planning and, in response, I asked him to join my series of business education. I think these seminars will fill a real need in the local business community.”

The series will be held at Marco Island Center for the Arts, 1010 Winterberry Drive, Marco Island, Florida and each seminar will be from 5:30 to 7 PM.

The tentative schedule for the series is:

August 22, 2017 – Basic Concerns with Scott Shepard, CPA, William G. Morris attorney and Vip Grover of Advanced Insurance Underwriters

August 29, 2017 – Business Operation I with Paul Tateo, realtor, Marco Island Police Department and Keith Dameron of Iberia Bank

Morris explained, “Our local businesses are often in a void of information. Information and answers are hard to find. Business owners don’t have time to search and many don’t even think of what they should be looking for. We have put together some of the best local professionals to address matters we feel should be of concern to all businesses and look forward to a great series.”

Attendees may attend one or all of the seminars, but space is limited so reservations are encouraged. For reservations or further information, please contact the Law Offices of William G. Morris, P.A. at 239-285-2760 or by visiting the firm’s website at www.wgmorrislaw.com.
