After an overwhelming response from our Earth Day Photo Contest and a number of photos sent in by Coastal Breeze readers, staff here has realized we have a lot of talented photographers in our area. We also have a ton of wildlife and wild activities that take place in our little corner of the world every day. So, the next time you happento catch that perfect shot, send it our way and we’ll share it with our readers.
Luisa Maldonado-Stiers recently caught these odd shots of a burrowing owl perched atop a mailbox right along the side of the road. It seems this owl may be used to having his photo taken. Locals and visitors are infatuated with Marco’s burrowing owl population. Always remember to respect wildlife and give them plenty of room so they don’t feel threatened.
