The school teaches an Okinawan style of karate called Seibukan Shorin- Ryu. The dojo trains students from six years and up to be champions in life and martial arts. Sensei Nick Lemke says” The program teaches discipline, character, confidence, physical and mental strength, and most importantly self defense. Students in the current class range in age from 6 to 64. Students were tested for Karate form, skills and technique by Sensei’s Robert and Alan who are from the Greater Miami area.
All students of the course passed the first test and all were awarded yellow belts except for Alan Musico who was awarded a blue belt.
Seibukan Karate Classes are on going throughout the year and are held at various times throughout the week. A special after school program for kids is offered every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Program fees are only $30 a month for Y members and $55 a month for community members. A one time uniform fee for Gi and patch is $40 and all students must join the AAU at $14 a year for ages up to 20 and $27 a year for 21 and up.
