On Friday, October 1, the Collier County Supervisor of Elections Office began mailing sample ballots for the November 2 General Election. A sample ballot was mailed to each registered voter who has not requested an absentee/mail ballot.
For most Collier County voters, the ballot for the 2010 General Election will be three pages in length. Registered voters in the City of Naples and the City of Marco Island will be voting a two-page ballot.
Those planning to vote in person during Early Voting or on Election Day are encouraged to study their sample ballot and bring it to the polls to use as a guide. For convenience, voters may request an absentee/mail ballot be mailed to them. Any qualified voter is permitted to request and vote by absentee/mail ballot – NO EXCUSE IS NEEDED. The deadline to request a ballot be mailed is Wednesday, October 27. After that date, voters will be required to pick up their ballot at the Supervisor of Elections Office.
Additional information on the constitutional amendments appearing on the ballot may be found under the Election Information tab, Ballot Issues 2010, on the Supervisor of Elections Office website at: www.CollierVotes.com. The information on the constitutional amendments includes sponsor/originator as well as arguments for and against.
