Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve will host an informational meeting about the new Isles of Capri Paddle Craft Park from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8 at the Rookery Bay Environmental Learning Center, 300 Tower Road, Naples. The park, which is expected to open in January, will provide an opportunity for people using non-motorized vessels such as kayaks, canoes and paddleboards to access quiet backwaters in the reserve. The park is a collaborative effort between the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the Collier County Parks and Recreation Department. A short presentation will be provided on the history of this project and the status of work to date. Representatives from both agencies will be on hand to answer questions.
