The Lunch & Learn lecture series hosted at the Rookery Bay Environmental Learning Center invites guests to enjoy a meal while learning about an environmental topic.
In honor of Rookery Bay Research Reserve’s 40th anniversary, the 2018-2019 lecture series, titled “Rookery Bay: Through Their Eyes,” focuses on the history of the Rookery Bay area and the establishment of the research reserve.
The next lecture, on February 26, 2019 from noon to 1 PM, will be presented by Renee Wilson, communications coordinator for Florida Department of Environmental Protection at Rookery Bay Research Reserve. Her multi-media presentation will provide perspective on important events, special visitors and memorable moments in the reserve’s history.
Subsequent lectures in the Lunch & Learn lecture series include:
- March 19: Through the Eyes of the Researcher, by Steve Wilkie, master’s candidate at Florida Gulf Coast University
- April 16: Through the Eyes of the Filmmakers, by Elam and Nic Stoltzfus, filmmakers of Live Oak Production Group
The cost to attend the lectures is $15 and includes lunch. Friends of Rookery Bay members enjoy a 10-percent discount. Rookery Bay Environmental Learning Center is located at 300 Tower Road, Naples.
