ROAD ALERT

This ROAD ALERT was prepared by the Collier County Growth Management Division to inform the community about scheduled road construction and road maintenance projects along major roadways in Collier County where lane closures are planned or traffic flow may be affected.

COLLIER COUNTY CONSTRUCTION/MAINTENANCE PROJECTS:

Airport-Pulling Road between U.S. 41 East and Cougar Drive – On Airport-Pulling Road between U.S. 41 East and Cougar Drive expect southbound and northbound intermittent lane closures for approximately one month from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews continue landscape maintenance in the medians. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades are being used to assist travelers in this area.

Collier Boulevard between Mainsail Drive and Fiddlers Creek Parkway– On Collier Boulevard between Mainsail Drive (north of the S.S. Jolly Bridge) and Fiddlers Creek Parkway expect both southbound and northbound intermittent lane closures on Wednesday, June 10 through Friday, June 12 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews perform landscape maintenance in the medians. Lighted arrow boards and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.

Colorado Avenue between South 9th Street and South 1st Street – On Colorado Avenue between South 9th Street and South 1st Street expect intermittent lane closures for approximately one month, weather permitting, as crews construct sidewalks and drainage improvements. Flagmen, advance warning signs and barricades are being used to assist travelers in this area.

County Barn Road between Rattlesnake Hammock Road and Charlemagne Boulevard – Expect County Barn Road between Rattlesnake Hammock Road and Charlemagne Boulevard to be CLOSED TO ALL TRAFFIC for approximately one week, weather permitting, as crews remove the existing travel lanes in order to progress with construction of a wider roadway. Detour signs will be posted to direct southbound traffic to go east on Whitaker Road to Santa Barbara Boulevard and then south to Rattlesnake Hammock Road. Those heading northbound will be directed to do the reverse. Additionally, between Rattlesnake Hammock Road and Davis Boulevard crews continue to work along the roadsides and continue drainage improvements and road widening for approximately three months as part of the County Barn Segment of the Lely Stormwater Improvement Project. Drivers are advised to proceed with caution, expect delays, and may want to consider taking an alternate route during this needed improvement work. Flagmen as needed, advance warning signs, electronic message boards and barricades are being used to assist travelers in this area.

Golden Gate Parkway between Bears Paw Trail and Livingston Road – On Golden Gate Parkway between Bears Paw Trail and Livingston Road expect intermittent lane closures on Monday, June 8 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews continue landscape maintenance in the medians. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades are being used to assist travelers in this area.

Goodlette-Frank Road between Golden Gate Parkway and Pine Ridge Road – On Goodlette-Frank Road between Golden Gate Parkway and Pine Ridge Road expect intermittent lane closures on Tuesday, June 9 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews continue landscape maintenance in the medians. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades are being used to assist motorists traveling in this area.

Immokalee Drive between Carson Road and North 15th Street – Immokalee Drive between Carson Road and North 15th Street will be CLOSED to through traffic for approximately three weeks, weather permitting, as crews continue installation of new utilities. Detour signs are posted and local traffic is being accommodated. Flagmen, advance warning signs, electronic message boards and barricades are being used to assist travelers in this area.

Immokalee Road between U.S. 41 and Collier Boulevard – On Immokalee Road between U.S. 41 and Collier Boulevard expect both westbound and eastbound intermittent lane closures for approximately one month from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews continue landscape maintenance in the medians. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades are being used to assist travelers in this area.

Livingston Road between Radio Road and Pine Ridge Road – On Livingston Road between Radio Road and Pine Ridge Road expect intermittent lane closures on Monday, June 8 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews continue landscape maintenance in the medians. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades are being used to assist travelers in this area.

Mercantile Avenue between Airport-Pulling Road and Industrial Boulevard – On Mercantile Avenue between Airport-Pulling Road and Industrial Boulevard expect intermittent lane closures on Friday, June 5 between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews place pavement markings as completion of a project to widen the roadway and construct drainage improvements. Flagmen, advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in the area.

Pine Ridge Road between Woodshire Lane and Airport-Pulling Road – On Pine Ridge Road between Woodshire Lane and Airport-Pulling Road expect both westbound and eastbound traffic to be reduced from three lanes to two lanes intermittently through Friday, June 5 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and OVERNIGHT from8 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting, as crews perform work on the median just east of Woodshire Lane as part of the Pine Ridge Road Median Improvements Project. Flagmen, lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades are being used to assist travelers in the area.

Pine Ridge Road between U.S. 41 and Logan Boulevard – On Pine Ridge Road between U.S. 41 and Logan Boulevard expect intermittent lane closures on Wednesday, June 10 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews continue landscape maintenance in the medians. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades are being used to help drivers traveling in this area.

Radio Road sidewalk between Davis Boulevard and Santa Barbara Boulevard – On Radio Road at the Collier Area Transit Facility, 8300 Radio Road, expect the sidewalk on the south side of the roadway to be CLOSED for approximately two months, weather permitting, as crews build a new driveway. Detour signs are posted to direct pedestrian/bicycle traffic to alternate routes using the crosswalks at Davis Boulevard and Santa Barbara Boulevard. Advance warning signs and barricades are being used to assist travelers in this area.

U.S. 41 East and Collier Boulevard Intersection – At the U.S. 41 East and Collier Boulevard intersection expect traffic in each direction to be reduced from three lanes to two lanes to continue for approximately two weeks, weather permitting, as crews continue construction of the U.S. 41 and S.R./C.R. 951 Intersection Capacity Improvement Project. The project limits extend approximately one-quarter mile north on Collier Boulevard, as well as one-quarter mile east and west on U.S. 41 and three miles south on Collier Boulevard to just south of Fiddler’s Creek Parkway. Detour signs are posted to direct pedestrian/bicycle traffic to alternate routes. The speed limit has been reduced to 35 mph in this area during the construction project. Drivers are reminded to stay alert and drive with care. Electronic message boards, lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades are being used to assist travelers.

U.S. 41 between Wiggins Pass Road and Lee County Line – On U.S. 41 between Wiggins Pass Road and the Lee County Line expect both southbound and northbound intermittent lane closures on Wednesday, June 10 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews continue landscape maintenance in the medians. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades are being used to assist travelers in this area.

Vanderbilt Beach Road between Airport-Pulling Road and Collier Boulevard – On Vanderbilt Beach Road between Airport-Pulling Road and Collier Boulevard expect both westbound and eastbound intermittent lane closures for approximately one month from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews continue landscape maintenance in the medians. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades are being used to assist travelers in this area.

WORK BY OTHERS:

Airport-Pulling Road between Lone Oak Boulevard and Orange Blossom Drive – On Airport-Pulling Road between Lone Oak Boulevard and Orange Blossom Drive expect northbound traffic to be reduced from three lanes to two lanes for approximately one week from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews working for Capital Group Properties mill and pave a new entrance for Windward Isle. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades are being used to assist travelers in this area.

Airport-Pulling Road between Trade Center Way and Orange Blossom Drive – On Airport-Pulling Road between Trade Center Way and Orange Blossom Drive expect southbound traffic to be reduced from two lanes to one lane intermittently for approximately two weeks OVERNIGHT from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting, as crews working for Florida Power and Light install new poles. Flagmen, lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades are being used to assist travelers in this area.

J & C Boulevard between Taylor Road and Airport-Pulling Road – On J & C Boulevard between Taylor Road and Airport-Pulling Road expect traffic to be reduced to ONE LANE ONLY intermittently for approximately two weeks OVERNIGHT from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m., weather permitting, as crews working for Florida Power and Light install new poles. Flagmen, electronic message boards, lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades are being used to assist travelers in this area.
