Can’t you just hear those 76 trombones on parade right now? You definitely will Nov. 21-23 when The Island Theater Company presents Meredith Willson’s “The Music Man Jr.” as its annual Christmas production.
Sponsored by APM Custom Homes, “The Music Man Jr.” is ITC’s Christmas gift to the community. Joining the company to present this gift are several partners: Christmas Island Style, the Marco Lutheran Church and the Island Dance Academy. Performances will be held at the Marco Lutheran Church at 525 N. Collier Blvd.
The production will be FREE and open to the public; tickets are not required. In keeping with the spirit of Christmas, there will be a special charitable collection during the show. Bring the whole family and kick off your holiday in style.
The show features Josiah Hurtley, as master showman Harold Hill; Jessica Lang, as librarian Marian Paroo; Morgan Broxson, as Eulalie Shinn; and more than 40 townspeople.
Hill is in town, and he’s got “76 trombones” in tow. Can the upright, uptight town librarian resist his powerful allure? Based on the timeless Broadway classic, The Music Man Jr. adapts this masterful musical for young performers. The result is family entertainment at its best — a bold, brassy show that will have the whole town atwitter!
The cast includes Mickey Poling, Robert Cohen, Jake Robins, Keaton Ashby, Connor Flaherty, Carter Wesson, Simeon Sharp, Joey Robins, Emilie Parry, Camryn Mallernee, Max Whitson, Morgan Broxson, McKenna Broxson, Lola Green, Clare Hassell, Shannon Carr, Ellie Poling, Alicia Cole, Celina Alber, Kaitlin Flaherty, Ellisa Smith, Seneca Lowery, Brandon Gear, Maggie Poling, Caroline Flaherty, Alexis Popick, Lily Sennie, Zahara Greco, Elizabeth Hobbs, Abigail Dreiser and Emily Boxma as stage manager.
