When Kerri Lampos talks about her Revival Yoga Fitness Studio she uses words like safe, warm and welcoming.

Yoga students concur with her description, adding, in their multitude of positive online reviews, that the studio has “friendly, helpful, staff” and that it offers “a great atmosphere and wonderful experience.”

The feedback from students means a great deal to Kerri. She says that when she opened the studio in 2016, creating this positive experience was a major part of her mission. She and her dedicated staff have worked hard to make the studio a welcoming space where students “feel like family and are safe to explore their practice.”

Revival Yoga Fitness Studio offers a completely unique experience. Students enjoy complementary props, towels, water and tea. Instructors are engaged and offer individual attention. Kerri says, “At Revival, we offer a welcoming, intimate space with close attention to detail in our instruction. Our team is absolutely amazing and completely dedicated to the students.” realized how a yoga practice affects both the body, and the mind.

The variety of classes offered also helps to keep things interesting. For this, Kerri credits Manager Julia Szilagyi, who she says, “is a master at running things smoothly and creates creative workshop schedules each month to focus on fun or specific areas of practice.” Private sessions are also available in the studio or in the privacy of a student’s home. Kerri explains how yoga’s many benefits are varied, and almost too many to list. For the body, yoga can increase core strength, flexibility and immunity. Some yogis enjoy improved digestion, circulation and posture, as well as help with weight management. She says that many of her students came in following their doctors’ suggestion to try yoga for pain and tension relief. Mentally, yoga can improve concentration, confidence, emotional stability, and creativity. Some have also found relief from anxiety, stress, and even attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

 

 

 

 

We wondered if there are any age or physical limits to practicing yoga, to which Kerri said, “If you can breathe, you can do yoga,” a quote by Tirumalai Krishnamacharya, known as the father of modern yoga. The studio has had students from ages 4 to at least 89 (perhaps older, since it is optional to give your birthdate on their forms). Kerri acknowledged, “While there might be physical limitations for some, there are always modifications.” She explains that props like blocks, bolsters or blankets can help to make a pose more accessible. “Even sitting in a chair, focusing on breathing and mindful moving provides enormous benefits.”

Recently, Revival Yoga enlarged its studio space because they were so busy last season that they had to turn people away. In spite of concerns that Hurricane Irma would derail renovation plans, and thanks to friend and contractor Chris Adams, work on the studio was finished by the end of November. Karri says, “Now, we can have a bit more room in the studio, yet still remain with the integrity of our space.”
