Collier County is proposing an amendment its 2011-2012 U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Action Plan. This amendment will reprogram a total of $775,016 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds into another Infrastructure/Public Facilities Project to benefit the citizens of Collier County.
The proposed amendment would move CDBG funding from a Collier County Parks and Recreation Department proposed project for construction of a Community Center at Eagle Lakes in East Naples to a project for the construction of a Community Center at South Immokalee Neighborhood Park in Immokalee, FL.
Collier County Parks and Recreation Department is requesting this change to expend federal funds more efficiently. The Eagle Lakes Park Community Center will still be constructed using general and ad valorem funds. Both Community Centers will be used for Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) Programs and other community uses.
