A ‘Celebration of Courage’ will take place at the Marco Island Marriott on Sunday, September 11, in honor of the tenth anniversary of the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. This year’s event will include an expanded presentation to commemorate this significant anniversary.
The Master of Ceremony will be Dave Elliott, radio host at WGUF (98.9). Dave will introduce the featured guest speaker, retired NYPD Sergeant Dennis Bootle. On that fateful day, Dennis was dispatched to the scene when the first plane hit the North Tower. Attendees will hear what it was like to be a first responder on the scene. The program will also include a 9/11 video presentation entitled, ‘We Will Never Forget,’ and a ceremony for fallen first responders. Chief Murphy of the Marco Island Fire/Rescue Department will also recognize a fire fighter who has gone above and beyond the call of duty with the prestigious Firefighter of the Year award. A full luncheon will be served and the event will conclude with a ‘Celebration of our Heroes’ video.
Tickets are $30 per person or $12 per child.
