It seems for years their storerooms, closets, cubbies, cabinets, and bins have been slyly filling with original 2- and 3-dimensional works of art, artists’ materials, frames and display items. There’s a huge assortment for artists and collectors alike – and it all needs to find a good home. So from now through July 22 isArtBid at the Art League. Those of you familiar with Ebay will already have an idea of how this works. Over one hundred true treasures are on display in the Art League’s Galleries. Stop in to select your ‘jewel’ from their trove; pay either the ridiculously low “Get It Now” price, or make a silent bid; and keep bidding until all bids close at 3:00 on Thursday, July 22.
If you enjoy a gamble, donate $10 to Project Rescue, and pick a free gift from their Mystery Market, a mountain of items innocently wrapped in plain brown paper – like a giant grab-bag from days gone by! Some of these packages are filled with bits of whimsy, but my inside scoop canassure you there are some very exciting finds to be had, and your donation will be a real boost for the Arts Community.
FREE BONUS: Each day, from 2-3 PM, local talent will be giving free demonstrations in art restoration and rejuvenation techniques. Here‘s the schedule for the upcoming week: Tuesday, 7/20 – Turn Broken Ceramic Pieces into Beautiful Mosaics ; Wednesday, 7/21 – CPR for Photographs; Thursday, 7/22 – Recycle Faded Jewels into Stylish Treasures.
