Collier County Domestic Animal Services (DAS) is promoting the adoption of bully breed dogs during the month of July. All bully breed dogs can be adopted for only $25. Some of the most common bully breed dogs are American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Boxer, American Bulldog, and Bulldogs.

“We see a lot more bully breed dogs at the shelter than any other dog,” said DAS Director Darcy Andrade. “I am hopeful that this promotion will help shine a positive light on these great pets and find many of them a forever home.”

DAS takes in close to 3,000 dogs each year. Of those, a large majority are mixes of bully breeds. Statistically, bully breeds take a much longer time before they are adopted.

Adoptions are usually $85, but during July, all Bully breeds and mixes are $25. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, age appropriate vaccinations, Collier County license, 30 days of free pet insurance, microchip and more. It’s a value of over $400.
