Brendan Burke will present “Lighthouses of the Sunshine State: Sentinels of History along Florida’s Coast” on March 20 from 12 to 1 PM at Rookery Bay Environmental Learning Center, 300 Tower Road, Naples.

Don’t miss the final lecture in the 2018 Florida Humanities Speaker Series, featuring fascinating programs about Florida’s history, culture and people. Presented by the Florida Humanities Council (FHC) in partnership with Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, this series has showcased engaging talks and performances each month since November.

The March 20th lecture, “Lighthouses of the Sunshine State: Sentinels of History along Florida’s Coast” is a journey across Florida with Brendan Burke, Maritime Historian at the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum.

The Florida Humanities Council partners with community organizations around the state. Support for the Speaker Series is provided by the Florida Humanities Council with funds from the Florida Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs and the Friends of Rookery Bay.

The cost of the presentation is $15 and includes lunch. (Friends of Rookery Bay members receive a ten percent discount.) Advance registration is required. Preregister at rookerybay.org/calendar.
