There are over 30,000 veterans who honorably served our country who call Collier County home. These men and women deserve the best in terms of aid and benefits. The debt owed to our veterans can never be fully repaid, but the benefits earned for their service and sacrifice should be easily available when needed.

On Wednesday, April 5, IBERIABANK Marco Island branch will bring an “In The Round” presentation that is fully dedicated to bringing this important information to veterans living in Marco Island and Naples.

Presentations will be given by two speakers. The first, Naples Attorney Dan Burzynski, who is Veterans Administration accredited and will cover several available veterans’ benefits including:

  • Senior care;
  • Unreimbursed medical expenses;
  • Claim requirements;
  • Asset qualifications;
  • Planning options;
  • Burial and survivors benefits;
  • Spousal benefits, and more.

Attorney Burzynski will help provide clarity surrounding available services. Born in Wisconsin, Burzynski received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and a juris doctor degree from Emory University. He has practiced law in Naples since 1987 and is a charter member of Life Care Planning Firm Association, a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and a member of the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys.

The second speaker, Dr. Deborah Lux, will discuss the Collier County Honor Flight program. Dr. Lux, another leader in our community who has helped hundreds of local veterans, is a former officer in the United States Navy and a successful dentist. Dr. Lux and her husband Sean founded Collier County Honor Flight in 2013. This non-profit organization provides trips for local war veterans to travel to Washington, D.C. at no cost through the generosity of local donors. These veterans visit and reflect at the memorials that are dedicated to honor their sacrifices. Dr. Lux will share more about the organization and the variety of available volunteer opportunities.

The April 5th “In the Round” begins with a welcome reception at 5:30 PM, followed by the presentation at 6 PM, and a question and answer session at 7 PM. IBERIABANK is located at 605 Bald Eagle Drive, Marco Island. Admission is $3 per person. Seating is limited, and reservations are required by calling 239-393-2400.
