The featured speaker will be Marco Island’s own Police Chief Al Schettino, who will talk about Hurricane Irma, the Marco Island Police response and future disaster responses.
“A lot has happened in our community over the last year,” said Foundation President Dick Ad-ams. “This lunch, while supporting the families of our community’s police officers, will be a great opportunity to hear from the Chief about how law enforcement fared on Marco Island in 2017.”
The Foundation will also award its annual Marco Island Police Officer of the Year. This award goes to the Marco Island Police officer that has demonstrated outstanding achievement over the last year and honors those heroes who work tirelessly every day to make our community safer.
“Every year, we pause to honor a Marco Island Police officer who has served with distinction,” added Adams. “We will announce the 2017 Officer of the Year at January’s luncheon.”
Those wishing to attend the luncheon can call Joe Granda at 239-389- 2823 or Curt Koon at 239-389-4511 for tickets. The cost is $25 per person.
