How about 50% of your tax dollars may be invested in public education will be considered at a School Board Candidate Forum held at the Jewish Congregation of Marco Island (JCMI) at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2016. JCMI is located at 991 Winterberry Drive on Marco, and everyone is invited to attend.
The upcoming School Board elections are critical ones, the results of which may well influence whether $57,000,000 in federal funding is refused by Collier County, how technology is used in our schools, and the general approach to school district governance. The results of these elections will be determined in the August 30 primary as there are only two candidates running in each of the two districts involved. Unlike other elections in Collier County, School Board elections are county-wide and non-partisan. This means that ALL registered voters, regardless of which district they reside in and which party they are enrolled in, get to vote in these important elections.
Please consider attending the upcoming School Board Candidate Forum on July 12 so that you can become a well-informed voter who participates in the determining elections either by returning your absentee ballot or by voting in the primaries held on August 30.
This School Board Candidate Forum is sponsored by the Coalition for Quality Public Education, Inc. (C4QPE), a not-for-profit 501 © (3) inclusive group of deeply concerned citizens, parents, faith groups, businesses and civic associations committed to protecting and fostering quality public education in Collier County, Florida.
