“It was an opportunity to take care of an area of Marco Island weall enjoy,” said Erik Condee. “The beach benefits all of us in one way or another and it adds to the quality of our lives. As a company, Condee was proud to participate.” Publisher Val Simon looked at the event this way: “When our staff isn’t busy putting a paper together, we’re busy making a difference! Not only was it good exercise, it was very rewarding. We want to thank everyone who donated their time and effort, especially the organizers Kevin, Bernardo and all of the BAC for the opportunity.”
The once-a-month clean-up program is coordinated by Kevin Donlan, Chairman of the City of Marco Island’s Beach Advisory Committee and manager of Publix. Bernardo Bezos,a BAC and Marco Island Civic Association (MICA) board member assisted with MICA’s “gator” vehicle, collecting the bags of trash for disposal and carrying the supplies for the working participants. The once-a-month beach clean-ups are keeping the Marco Island beaches beautiful. The public is welcome to participate.
