Erik Condee, along with Condee employees Terry Chapin, Rene Simon and Brett Reynolds participated in a beach clean-up Sunday, July 18along with Coastal Breeze News staffers Carole Musgrave, Jeane Brennan, Marilyn Honahan and Val Simon. The combined efforts of these two locally-owned businesses resulted in a five-mile stretch of Marco Island beaches being cleaned thoroughly for all to enjoy. A few local children pitched-in as well: Sophie Popoff, Diane Needles and Jillian Pipitone; along with a group of Italian and Spanish students residing on Marco Island for part of the summer. Assisting with the task were Nancy and Camille Richie.

all enjoy,” said Erik Condee. “The beach benefits all of us in one way or another and it adds to the quality of our lives. As a company, Condee was proud to participate.” Publisher Val Simon looked at the event this way: “When our staff isn’t busy putting a paper together, we’re busy making a difference! Not only was it good exercise, it was very rewarding. We want to thank everyone who donated their time and effort, especially the organizers Kevin, Bernardo and all of the BAC for the opportunity.”
The once-a-month clean-up program is coordinated by Kevin Donlan, Chairman of the City of Marco Island’s Beach Advisory Committee and manager of Publix. Bernardo Bezos,

a BAC and Marco Island Civic Association (MICA) board member assisted with MICA’s “gator” vehicle, collecting the bags of trash for disposal and carrying the supplies for the working participants. The once-a-month beach clean-ups are keeping the Marco Island beaches beautiful. The public is welcome to participate.
