Pillow Pets Drive

Here at Camp Mackle you needn’t wait a single moment to help another. We strongly believe that you are never too young or too small to make a big, positive difference in somebody’s life or in the community. Last year, Camp Mackle collected donations for the Save Our Seabirds, Inc. in the wake of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. This year we found inspiration for Camp Mackle’s community service project from a 7-year-old boy in Carmel, IN, Jacob McConahay. Jacob is currently battling an aggressive form of cancer. However, in the face of all of his personal challenges, he has chosen to do something to help his friends at Riley Children’s Hospital. He has started a Pillow Pet collection so that every patient at Riley Children’s Hospital can have one. His story inspired us so much that we decided to collect Pillow Pets in Jacob’s honor to be donated to the patients at the Ft. Myers Children’s Hospital. Please visit the following link to learn more about Jacob and his story: mypillowpetsblog.com/please-help-our-friend-jake.

We invite the community to join our effort! We will continue to collect pillow pets until the end of summer.
