Chief Executive Officer Todd Lupton announced that Eric Eskioglu, M.D. and Brian Mason, M.D. have joined the medical staff at Physicians Regional Healthcare System, bringing neurovascular and neuroendovascular services to its Pine Ridge Campus.
“It is a great honor to welcome these talented and well-known physicians to Physicians Regional,” said Lupton. “We look forward to working closely together as they continue their extraordinary work in our community.”
Dr. Eskioglu is board certified in Neurosurgery with fellowship training in Vascular and Endovascular Neurosurgery. Dr. Mason is board certified in Radiology with fellowship training in Neuroendovascular Surgery and Peripheral Interventional Radiology. Together, they have provided exclusive and vital life-saving neurovascular and neuroendovascular services to the Southwest Florida community for the past several years.
Most notable among their vast areas of expertise is their innovative healthcare work in the treatment of brain aneurysms, including the utilization of the minimally invasive brain “coiling” or embolization procedure. The physicians are among the first in the country who are approved to utilize ONYX, a liquid rubber polymer to treat brain aneurysms that would otherwise be untreatable, and are among only a few physicians in Florida who can perform angioplasty and stents for symptomatic intracranial atherosclerotic disease.
Drs. Eskioglu and Mason will spearhead the new Neurovascular and Stroke Institute at Physicians Regional Healthcare System.
“This is a tremendous opportunity to keep this unique medical specialty here in our community. Physicians Regional will take full advantage to ensure the support and growth of this program for the benefit of our patients,” added Lupton.
The physicians will be providing outpatient clinic services on the 2nd floor of Physicians Regional-Pine Ridge at Desk 21/22. For more information and appointments, please call 239-348-4323 (HEAD).
