Patrick Higgins, Friends of Fakahatchee Strand to Address Calusa Garden Club


Patrick Higgins, President of the Board of Friends of Fakahatchee Strand, will address Calusa Garden Club of Marco Island at its meeting on February 12, 2018. Community members are invited to attend the presentation that will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall at 1:15 PM on Tuesday, February 12.

Higgins will discuss the Fakahatchee Strand State Park and talk about the ways visitors can view the unique ecosystem it contains. Friends of Fakahatchee Strand is a group dedicated to preserving the unique ecology and cultural heritage of Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park and educating the public about the importance of the park. Calusa Garden Club of Marco Island is a member of the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs and membership is open to those interested in horticulture, floral design and environmental matters residing five months or more in Collier County.

Calusa Garden Club of Marco Island meets the second Monday of each month, October through March, at Wesley United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 350 S. Barfield Drive, Marco Island. Business meetings begin at 12:30 PM and programs begin at 1:15 PM. Calusa Garden Club welcomes visitors interested in our educational programs and visitors interested in membership.
