The Marco Island Chamber of Commerce’s 2018 Leadership Marco class is comprised of twelve individuals with diverse backgrounds and a multitude of talents. In our last issue readers met six of the students that make up this remarkable class. Enjoy “meeting” the remaining students, business professionals who you may already know as your friends, colleagues and neighbors in our community.

Ileana M. Bogaert
Ileana M. Bogaert is a licensed Florida Real Estate Broker whose passion is “advocating for the real estate profession and industry globally.”
She was the National Association of Realtors (NAR) President’s Liaison to the countries of Chile in 2018, and Colombia from 2012-2016, and is a NAR Global Business & Alliances Advisory Board member. She is also a 2018 director with the Marco Island Board of Realtors.
Ileana is married to Patrick Bogaert, who is originally from Belgium. She lived abroad in Sao Paulo, Brazil before relocating to Marco Island, Florida in 2005. Her hobbies include bicycle riding, music, travel, and research.
Ileana decided to attend the Leadership Marco class because she believes that she can learn more through the Chamber of Commerce about the different areas involved in governing, economics, community needs and challenges, allowing her to use her skills to “better serve Marco Island’s residents by safeguarding Marco Island’s quality of life, promoting it as a top destination and being a positive influence for the community.”
She would like to learn the different areas involved in decision-making, and how to participate in important roles and events that will have a positive influence for the benefit of the island and its residents.
Ileana believes that the Leadership Marco experience benefits the community in ways that will lead to a “better quality of life for the residents of Marco Island.”
Jeff McCracken has been an Account Executive for the Naples Daily News and Marco Eagle since 2017. Jeff moved to Marco Island in 2016 and worked for the leadership team at the JW Marriott where he was able to give back to multiple charities. Since 2017, he has been “more involved in the community and helped business grow.” Jeff joined the committee for the Women’s Shelter, has volunteered at Harry Chapin Food Drives, and has assisted at the Boys and Girls Club.
Jeff enjoys fishing, movies, relaxing at the beach and volunteering. A soon-to-be dad, Jeff is looking forward to meeting his son Jaxson next month.
He decided to attend Leadership Marco for “Growth and development.”
Asked what he hopes to gain from Leadership Marco, Jeff says, “To be diverse and well-rounded with all businesses on Marco.
Nick Donatelli is the Executive Chef for CJs on the Bay on Marco Island. He graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania Academy of Culinary Arts in 2005 and moved to Marco Island as the result of the externship job placement program in August 2005.
Unforgettably, Nick’s first drive over the Jolley Bridge took place during Hurricane Katrina.
He was hired by the Marco Island Marriott while attending school and moved the island sight unseen.
Nick has been with CJs on the Bay for the past eight years and was sponsored by owners Curt and Jacquie Koon to attend the program.
Nick says, “I hope to gain more knowledge of Marco and the community and to have a great networking opportunity in the area.”
Anthony J. Dimora
Anthony J. Dimora is an Associate Attorney with the law firm of Woodward, Pires & Lombardo, P.A. Anthony became a resident of Marco Island in September 2013, but recently moved to nearby Naples.
Anthony, who has always enjoyed cooking, says “My dream was always to own my own restaurant one day.”
When asked why he decided to become a part of Leadership Marco, Anthony responded, “I have either been living or working on Marco for the past five years and I realized that I did not really know anything about Marco and thought this would be a great way of learning about Marco and meeting new people from Marco.”
Through the course, he hopes to gain “friendships and a better of understanding of the history of Marco Island.”
Anthony has enjoyed the experience so far and feels it will benefit the community. “Its only a been a few weeks since Leadership Marco started and I already have found myself telling others about my experiences and all the exciting and interesting things I have learned. So, being able to share all of the knowledge I learn by participating in Leadership Marco is how I feel Leadership Marco will benefit the community.”
The learning has begun for the Leadership Marco Class of 2018.
Anthony Mina is Administrator for the Physicians Regional Medical Group, part of the Physicians Regional Healthcare System. He is an executive responsible for the day-to-day operations, growth and strategic positioning of Physicians Regional Medical Group.
A Naples resident, Anthony is married and has four children. He enjoys boating, fishing and spending time on the beach with family and friends.
He decided to attend Leadership Marco because he “was afforded the opportunity by our CEO to become immersed in the history and culture of our community.”
He hopes to gain “a greater sense and understanding of our area’s rich and vibrant history while integrating into the community.”
Anthony believes that the program has a positive impact on the community. “Leadership Marco is an extremely worthwhile investment in time and resources. I believe programs like this help frame our future by educating us first on our rich heritage. Countless introductions are made in today’s market place that are making a positive impact in and around the community that together help shape the future.”
Christian Wartchow is the President and CEO of South Florida Tech Group & CyberSecure IT Solutions. He leads a team and “helps everyone to find success in their career.”
Christian works a lot, but when it comes time for relaxing, he enjoys a little golf and dining out with his wife and their friends.
He became a full time Marco Island resident in 2005, after enjoying seasonal living on the island since 2000.
Christian decided to attend Leadership Marco after meeting several graduates of the program and being impressed with their community knowledge. He felt that the best way to truly understand the community was to attend Leadership Marco himself.
Through the program Christian hopes to gain “a greater understanding of the community as a whole and the business community in particular.”
The benefits of Leadership Marco are already evident to him. “With the personal connections I have made already through LM I have been able to provide help and support to several new colleagues and have received assistance as well. Looking forward to giving more to the community by working with the network of leaders in the Leadership Marco community.”
