Parks and Rec Packs in the Programs

Mackle Park has several exciting events planned for the coming weeks. From a barbecue to glamour spas, to Halloween haunts to football and more! The City of Marco Island has a variety of programming available, listed below are just a few. For more information or registration, call 239-642-0575.

Back to School Open House and Barbecue: The Teen Center will be serving up hamburgers, hotdogs, chips and drinks for area teens. Music and games will be provided. The staff would like to welcome new and returning teens. Sunday, September 12 from 1:00-3:00 PM (6th-12th grade).

Yang, Chen, and Wu Tai Chi: Master balance and proper body alignment, core strength and rhythm of motion. It is calming and relaxing, and improves overall health. Saturdays, September 5, October 31 and November 21, $10.00 a class.

Boxing and Martial Arts: King of the ring in kickboxing circles. Muay Thai features punches, kicks, elbows, knees and standing grappling to wear down the opponent. Training will enhance the fighter’s adaptability, strength and stamina. Age 13 years plus. Thursdays 5:30-6:30 PM Boxing, or 6:30–7:45 PM Martial Arts. Saturdays, September 12 and 26 at 11:00 AM–12:30 PM.

Punt, Pass and Kick: 9th Annual NFL competition will be divided into 6/7, 8/9, 10/11, 12/13 and 14/15. Winners in each division will advance to sectionals. Girls and boys will be separate.   Pre-register at www.NFLPPK.com. Tuesday, September 15, 5:00–6:00 PM.

Glamour Spa: An afternoon of pampering and learning how to make body scrubs, lip gloss, body lotion and more. There will be manicures and making t-shirts, flip flops, headbands and hair-ties. $60-$72. Transportation from TBE provided. For ages 7-10 years, 3:00-5:30 PM, September 21, 28 and October 5.

Teen Night Haunted Tour: Join your friends and paranormal enthusiasts for fright filled night of fun and terror. The group will travel to spots in Naples known as spirit hot spots. Take photos looking for orbs and end with a walk through the Marco Cemetery. Snacks and drinks provided.   6-12th grades. Saturday, October 10, 5:00–8:00 PM. $15.00.

Teen Trip to Howl-O-Scream: This annual trip to Busch Gardens is very popular. Ride roller coasters and walk haunted houses. $100.00 cost includes Frontline Fear passes (no waiting for rides!). Sunday, October 18, 4:00 PM–4:00 AM, 6th–12th grade. Pre-registration required.

Halloween Spooktacular: It is the party of the year! Food, games, pumpkin patch, crafts and music. Costume contest for ages 10 and under. Saturday, October 24.
