The Marco Island Center for the Arts will hold its annual outdoor sidewalk Chalk Art event on January 30, 2016 from 2-5 PM. The event is free, and everyone who is young or young at heart is invited.
Participating artists feature their works on the parking area around the Center for the Arts at 1010 Winterberry Drive, Marco Island. Materials, and even assistance, will be provided by the Center for the Arts. This year, Lee Horton, one of the artists working with the Center, will coordinate, offer assistance and work with the artists to help them create their chalk art masterpieces.
“This is a great event, especially for the kids,” said Hyla Crane, the Center for the Art’s executive director. But, the event is not limited to children. “Even the adults have a lot of fun. All of the art is really exciting and everyone involved is filled with an infectious joy,” said Crane.
Bill Morris, Marco Island attorney and vice president of the Marco Island Center for the Arts agreed, “Last year, I had three of my children here and they loved it! This year, my wife and I are bringing six!”
No reservations are required and anyone who wants to participate needs only to come to the Marco Island Center for the Arts between 2-5 PM to check in, pick up materials, pick a space and create a masterpiece.
