Calusa Garden Club will meet on Monday, January 9 at 1:15 PM to hear an educational presentation from Marcie Gorski on “Orchid Varieties — Their Similarities and Differences.” Marcie will be assisted by her husband Bill Gorski. The Gorskis, who are officers of the Gulf Coast Orchid Alliance (GCOA), will bring six orchid varieties to show and additional descriptive sheets illustrating some of the over 25,000 existing varieties of beautiful and exotic orchids. According to Ms. Gorski, all orchids do not look like the phalaenopsis we see sold in grocery stores! The Gulf Coast Orchid Alliance, formed in 2012, is composed of members who cultivate and show orchids on the Gulf Coast from Marco Island to Fort Myers. The GCOA will host an Orchid Sale on January 14, 2017 at the Naples Area Board of Realtors featuring over 800 fresh orchids.
