While working as a primary school teacher, the seeds of Marianne Oehler’s artistic career started when she took a porcelain painting class. In 2010, Oehler was in a serious car accident and injured her right arm so badly that she had to do everything with her left hand. Initially thought of as therapy, Oehler began to paint in acrylics and watercolors with her non-dominant hand. She decided in 2014 to open her own studio. In the La Petite Galerie, middle school Marco Island Academy will be displaying their creative and fun expressions of art.
