ZANGER, Charles A., 66, of Marco Island, FL, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, and Delran, NJ, passed away suddenly at his home on November 26.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Chal was the son of Charles G. and Anna M. (Shussler) Zanger. He was a proud graduate of LaSalle College High School (1972) and LaSalle University (1976). Following graduation, he was employed briefly in the banking business before beginning a long career in the transportation industry. Chal was the proud co-owner of P&P Transport, Inc. of Delran, NJ. The 300 plus employees at P&P were like his family and he will be greatly missed by all of them.
Following the sale of P&P in 2007, Chal continued to work 5 more years for the new buyer and then retired to enjoy his family and many hobbies. He loved boating, fishing, and golf. Chal and his wife, Peg, took numerous trips on their boat and explored many islands in the Caribbean and Costa Rica. He was an avid golfer and a one-time member of Riverton Country Club (NJ). Chal was also a longtime Philadelphia Eagles season ticket holder, and he spent many Sundays at the famous P&P tailgate parties along with family, friends, and fellow employees.
Chal is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Peggy (Simister), son Charles A., Jr., sister Anne J. Cook (Steve), and his beloved grandsons, Luke and Cameron. He was predeceased by his son, Michael.
A memorial service will be held at a later date, pending COVID-19 regulations.
