Dates for the 2013 Everglades Seafood Festival have been announced. It will take place over the weekend of February 8, 9, 10.
This is the 40th anniversary of the famous festival that enlivens historic Everglades City. The traditional home-town family-fun event started as a fish fry and the proceeds benefit the local community.
Last year about 42,000 visitors descended on the remote rural area on the fringe of Collier County in Southwest Florida, enjoying the great food and top Country & Western entertainers. Kiddies screamed on the carnival rides, got their faces painted, and were challenged by the trampoline. Arts & Crafts vendors displayed and sold a huge array of wares in their tents.
Details of the 2013 program will be announced as they are finalized. For information, see www.evergladesseafoodfestival.com where vendors can download application forms for food and craft booths. For information, call (239) 695-2277.
