New city attorney

After a comprehensive search and comparison of services and fees, Marco Island’s City Council has selected the Naples firm of Gray Robinson to serve as its city attorney.

The principal contact for the city will be Burt Saunders who is very well known in Marco Island and Collier County. After receiving his law degree Burt served as assistant county attorney in Dade County, from 1979-’82. From there he came to the west coast and was Collier County’s attorney from 1982-’86. Burt then turned to politics and was a Collier County Commissioner from 1986-’94. He then served as a state legislator; first as a representative from 1994-’98, and as a state senator from 1998-2008. Burt then returned to Naples and joined the firm of Gray Robinson. He is an expert in a number of areas of the law, particularly administrative law. The city’s contract with the Gray Robinson is projected to result in a significant cost saving for the taxpayers of Marco Island.
