In a celebration of culture, color and taste, the India Association of Naples, a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit organization, put on the Naples India Fest at Cambier Park.
This year’s theme, “Colors of India” celebrated the country’s rich diversity. The event highlighted a blend of traditional and modern Indian food, art, dance and music.
The event coordinators, Ajith Dominic, Dilip Kumar, Dr. Naplin Master, Jay Shah, Mamta Trivedi, Preminda Sachdev and Visala Varanasi, organized delectable Indian cuisine for attendees. Attendees feasted on a wide array of foods, served by 21 Spices and Chef Asif, Cold Stone, India Grill, Digambar Sahu, Nirala Sweets, Sandeep Gaikwad and Lighthouse Collier. For shopping pleasure, vendors showcased creative arts and fashion. The vendors included Bombay Bangles, Crystal Wanderers, Florida Yoga Academy, Henna Tattoos by Shelly, Ishaya Designs, Paruls Beauty and Boutique, Shama Boutique and Jewels of India.
The stage was filled with models of all ages representing Indian fashion and accessories in a rainbow of patterns and colors. Most impressive were the talented dancers. Not only were they entertaining with costumes on point, but these young dancers were talented beyond their years, with perfect movement of legs, feet and mudras (hand gestures). A variety of dances kept the audience entertained throughout the afternoon.
Be sure to put the festival on your “must do” list next year!
