NAPLES BOTANICAL GARDEN CLOSURE TO COMPLETE ELEANOR AND NICHOLAS CHABRAJA VISITOR CENTER

Naples Botanical Garden will be closed Monday, June 2 to Thursday, October 23 2014 as we complete construction on the Eleanor and Nicholas Chabraja Visitor Center. During this time, large scale projects such as the completion of the center and three new gardens, the LaGrippe Orchid Garden, the Charismatic Garden and Kathryn’s Garden will be completed. These new gardens are designed by renowned Landscape architect Raymond Jungles.

The Garden was awarded a $500,000 grant from the State of Florida, Division of Cultural Affairs, in support of the construction of the new Eleanor and Nicholas Chabraja Visitor Center.  The Garden’s grant submission ranked number one in the State’s competitive grant application process.  This grant, along with several other significant campaign contributions, allowed general contractor Manhattan Construction to break ground in early August 2013 on the $15 million project.

The Chabraja Visitor Center has been designed to LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold Standards by award-winning Lake|Flato Architects from San Antonio, Texas.  This center, slated to open to the public October 23, 2014, will serve to increase the number and variety of lectures, exhibits, events, and educational symposiums at Naples Botanical Garden along with enhanced café, ticketing and retail space. The Fogg Café located in the new visitor center will be operated by D’Amico & Partners.

Guests may obtain up to date construction information via the Garden’s website,www.naplesgarden.org, including project timelines, photographs and videos. The Garden will reopen Thursday, October 23 with our regular hours of 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. every day (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Tuesdays).
