The Island Montessori Academy is offering Music and Movement classes for students and community members. All classes will perform at a Winter Showcase on December 17, 2015 at Island Montessori.
Private Piano Instruction with Mrs. A
Lisa Andreacchio, “Mrs. A,” as her students fondly refer to her, will be offering private 30-minute classical piano instruction for beginners and up. Mrs. A, a seasoned piano instructor with over twenty years of experience, continues to cultivate her craft by celebrating the uniqueness of each child that is presented within every student.
Private Piano Instruction on Mondays from 2:45 PM, beginning September 14. Cost is $560 for the semester.
Private Piano, Voice or Combo Instruction with Cleo and Island Pop Stars
Cleopatra Lazaridis, a live music and performance instructor, will be offering private, 25-minute piano, voice, or combo lessons for beginners and up. She will also be teaching the Island Pop Stars class, a group voice, choreography and performance class.
Cleo is a singer/songwriter with radio singles and performances throughout Canada, the United States and the Caribbean. Cleo, who has two children of her own, loves nothing more than to bring the beauty of music into the lives of children.
Private Piano and Voice Instruction is offered on Tuesdays, starting at 3:30 PM. The Island Pop Stars class is offered on Wednesdays at 3:30 PM. The cost per semester for Piano/Voice Instruction is $525, for the Island Pop Stars class is $375, and for both the Private Instruction and the Island Pop Class, $850.
Intermediate Lyrical and Intermediate Hip Hop
Lucy Alfieri will be teaching Intermediate Lyrical and Intermediate Hip Hop classes. Lucy, a graduate of the Brit School for Performing Arts and Technology, has danced professionally and opened her own dance studio. She strives to create a challenging class that is accessible to all levels, with the goal of teaching children the art and love of dance. She encourages students to gain self-confidence and respect for themselves and others, while (most importantly) having lots of fun!
Intermediate Lyrical classes will be on Mondays at 3:30 PM. The Intermediate Hip Hop class will be held on Tuesdays at 3:30 PM. Classes cost $300 per semester, $575 for two classes from list (see below).
Barbara Rosenblum, a licensed and insured yoga instructor, will be teaching yoga classes. Supporting her community as a yoga teacher, Barbara’s goal is to make yoga easily accessible to her students by teaching in a safe, happy and non-judgmental environment. Her specialty is vinyasa (flow) – a moderately paced class with a focus on building strength, flexibility, and awareness of breath and posture.
Classes are on Tuesdays at 5:30 PM. The cost is $10 per class.
Martial Arts Basics
Alice Zaimes-Strong, a certified 4th Degree Tae Kwon Do Black Belt, has over 30 years of experience instructing Martial Arts to students of all ages. Alice will be teaching the Martial Arts Basics Class, where children will learn focus, discipline, respect, confidence, flexibility /stretching, power/kicking and punching techniques, defensive/blocking and have fun while learning and achieving goals.
Classes are Tuesdays at 4:30 PM. Classes cost $300 per semester, $575 for two classes from list (see below).
Beginner Ballet/Jazz Combo and Intermediate Jazz
Maria Roque, a trained dancer in ballet, modern/contemporary, jazz, and hip hop, will be teaching Beginner Ballet/Jazz Combo and Intermediate Jazz. Maria loves sharing her passion of dance and movement with children, and providing them a creative outlet for physical and emotional spirit.
Beginner Ballet/Jazz Combo will be on Wednesdays at 3:30 PM. Intermediate Jazz will be on Thursdays at 3:30 PM. Classes cost $300 per semester, $575 for two classes from list (see below).
Tuition and payment pricing is for the semester, September 1-December 18, 2015. The following classes are $300 per class or 2 for $575, payable to Island Montessori:
