The Naples Airport Authority has provided a new space for the Museum of Military Memorabilia at Naples Municipal Airport. In addition to the area the museum has occupied since 2011 near the ticket counters in the Commercial Airline Terminal, the museum has moved display cases from the terminal lobby and hallway into a new space opposite the rental car counters. The museum now has 1,300 square feet of space to display many of the 11,000 artifacts in its collection.
More than 25,000 people a year visit the museum, which was founded in 2006 with the goals of honoring the veterans who have and are protecting the cause of freedom, preserving artifacts associated with military history and creating a greater understanding of military conflicts. The museum is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission and parking are free.
The Commercial Airline Terminal is located at the south end of the airport at 500 Terminal Drive, off North Road. The Airport Authority recently completed work to refurbish the terminal with new carpet and paint.
