Marco resident Dave Rice being loaded into the ambulance.
“I just got off the phone with Dave and he gave me approval to share the following information with any who are interested…….I assured him everyone is interested! Dave was flown by helicopter to Lee Memorial Hospital and had surgery to repair a broken hip yesterday. Also, he has some stitches in his head area. (He was not wearing a helmet.) In addition, he has a fractured fibula that has not required surgery. Given what he has been through in the last 24 hours he sounded great on the phone and, as is always the case with Dave, was very upbeat and wanted me to let everyone know he is scheduled to come home next Tuesday. I urge everyone to bury him in upbeat/positive/joyous Get Well cards and messages beginning now. How fortunate is Dave to survive such a potentially dangerous accident…and how fortunate are we to know Dave will continue to make Marco Island the wonderful paradise it is.”
