More than 200 students participated in the Greater Naples YMCA Storybrook Parade

The hallways of the Greater Naples YMCA were filled today with hundreds of trick-or-treating children dressed in homemade costumes based on their favorite storybook characters during the Y’s annual Storybook Parade, which celebrates the importance of literacy and early childhood education. The children, ages 3 months to 5 years, are part of YMCA’s Early Childhood program. Each of the 13 participating child care classrooms selected a storybook for the event, and teachers and children worked together to create costumes that reflected characters in each of those books. This year’s selections included “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie,” “The Cat in the Hat,” “Three Little Kittens,” “Old MacDonald Had a Farm” and other popular titles for children.
