On December 9, 2015, the Marco Island Police Department presented the Collier County Shelter for Abused Women and Children with a check for $435. Assorted gifts and toys, including the big teddy bear pictured, were also donated to the Shelter.
The Shelter provides services to Marco Island residents and visitors, assists more than 1,100 child victims and survivors of domestic violence annually through safety, intervention and direct support. The Shelter has served more than 68,000 children, women and men (as well as their pets) since 1989.
