MIFRD Training Chief Arrested


The following statement was released by the Marco Island Police Department’s Captain David Baer, on behalf of Marco Island Fire-Rescue Department (MIFRD) Chief Michael Murphy:

The City of Marco Island Fire-Rescue Department was informed MIFRD Training Chief Grady Harrison was arrested early this morning by the Collier County Sheriff’s Office for Domestic Battery and Obstruction at a location off Marco Island. 

The employee is being placed on administrative leave pending further investigation.  

Questions regarding the criminal investigation are being referred Collier County Sheriff’s Office.

No further comments on the personnel matter are being made at this time.

    We need to pray for the Chief & his family that peace & justice is afforded to them.
    We all have our problems but we must remember our Fire & Police are very special people & deserve our support for what they do for us!
