Marco Island Academy will hold its annual Squire’s Pro-Am Golf Tournament, hosted by Terrence McCreanor, on Sunday, October 29th at 1 PM., shotgun start, at Hammock Bay Golf & Country Club. An afternoon of sport, contests, dinner and auction will bring the community and school together to achieve a common goal.
MIA has been thriving since its opening seven years ago. One trait that distinguishes MIA from other schools is its size. With only 230 total students enrolled, the principal, faculty, students and families are all well acquainted with one another. This closeness instills a sincere, personal, united approach in providing an educational experience for each and every student.
The mission of Marco Island Academy is to provide a student-centered, well-rounded, interdisciplinary education. Students engage in critical thinking while focusing on math, science, technology, environmental and global studies. The Academy upholds the highest standards of academic excellence, integrity, respect, and social responsibility, while guiding students to achieve post-secondary success.
Unlike traditional public schools, charter schools receive less funding per student. MIA relies heavily on individual gifts from local community members and signature events each year to help bridge the funding gap to cover the cost of operating, facilities, technology, and athletics.
The cost is $150 per person. Sponsorship opportunities are available. For more information contact Hilary Noyes, MIA’s Director of Events at 239-784-2890 or via email, firstname.lastname@example.org or Jane Watt, Board Chair at 239-249-0004 or email@example.com.
