The Research Team on board the Dolphin Explorer is happy to share information about your area dolphins with the Coastal Breeze News readers. Each edition an individual will be profiled so that you, too, might get to know them. Dolphins can be identified by the nicks and marks on their dorsal fins.
This adult female is seen primarily where the Gulf of Mexico meets the Marco River, just west of the Isle of Capri. She has produced several offspring but, most recently she was seen with a brand new calf that was named Gypsy. This is the seventh new calf seen by the Dolphin Explorer survey team this fall.
Congrats, Victoria and good luck to the latest addition to your family!
