The Research Team on board the Dolphin Explorer is happy to share information about your area dolphins with the Coastal Breeze News readers. Each edition an individual will be profiled so that you, too, might get to know them. Dolphins can be identified by the nicks and marks on their dorsal fins.
This adult female has been in and out of the north Marco River area over the past year. Sometimes she is not seen for months, then she graces everyone with her presence several times a week. She is the mother of several calves, including Farkle, Hilton, Wintriss and Castaway, but has not had a calf by her side since 2014. Recently she has been followed by two of our big males, Bangle and Finch. Hopefully another calf is
on the way next year.
