The Research Team on board the Dolphin Explorer is happy to share information about your area dolphins with the Coastal Breeze News readers. Each edition an individual will be profiled so that you, too, might get to know them. Dolphins can be identified by the nicks and marks on their dorsal fins.
Currently, there is something very special going on with this adult female.
In the fall of 2015, Sintas gave birth to a calf named Fireball. Generally the young will stay with their mother until they are three or four years old, but Fireball is now on its own at 33 months old, and for good reason. There is a high probability that Sintas is pregnant!
Mom has taught this youngster everything she can and Fireball has been seen socializing with other dolphins while Sintas prepares for a potential new addition to the family.
