What has been sorely missing on Marco Island is a republican club. Thanks to a number of community leaders, the Caxambas Republican Club of Southwest Florida has become a reality.
Since their first social held in July signing up approximately 45 members and the second social held in August, the number of members has steadily increased. As a result, the club will hold another social on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at CJ’s on the Bay located in the Esplanade from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
In addition, the first official inaugural meeting will be held on Monday, Sept. 19 at Mackle Park from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. President Litha Berger will explain the club’s strategy, introduce the Board of Directors and Advisory Committee, and solidify future social and meeting dates.
Guest speaker will be Chauncey Goss, past national security analyst for the President’s Office of Management and Budget and later the Deputy Staff Director for Paul Ryan’s House Budget Committee. Goss received a Masters Degree in Public Policy from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rollins College. A native of southwest Florida, he lives on Sanibel with his wife, Allison, and three sons.
The meeting is open to members and non-members. Please RSVP no later than Sept. 13 to Karen Hearn, Secretary by calling or emailing her at 239-207-4574 email@example.com or Litha Berger, President at 954-594-4990 firstname.lastname@example.org
