The Marco Men’s Club honored their outgoing and incoming members of the Board of Directors at their Installation Dinner Dance on Saturday May 19 at Hideaway Beach Club. The event included cocktails, dinner and dancing, in addition to welcoming the new board members, and distributing awards.
Meeting the second Thursday of each month, the Marco Men’s Club is a social club of over 500 members, all residents of Marco Island, the Isles of Capri, and Goodland. They are essentially a social network, and the club consists of members with different hobbies and lifestyles. In addition to the club meetings, they also host luncheons at various local restaurants, dinners, and parties, including Halloween, Mardi Gras, and an upcoming Bastille party in July. The members are also involved in separate, personal outreach programs and charities.
The evening began with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, while members and their wives mingled, talked and enjoyed themselves and their company. Immediately following, the outgoing president Sam Miloro gave recognition to the outgoing board members and presented awards to Mike Levine, Patrick Thawley, Peter Clapp, and Fred Stavola expressing the club’s gratitude for, and honoring, their services.
Sam then announced the incoming president, Randle Grossman, who presented Sam with a gift in recognition and appreciation for his time as president. This was followed with awards in the form of flowers for Tammy Miloro and Suzanne Grossman, honoring their support and aide in the endeavors and events of the Men’s Club.
The incoming members of the board were listed—and the gentlemen in question lined up on the dance floor before dinner was served for all to enjoy. The now current board members include Randle as president; Jack Dehanas, Jerry Masters, Greg Glynn, Steve Moore, and Tom O’Reilly as vice presidents; with Don Zinner as treasurer. Also appointed is Alan Wetjen as the newsletter editor, Fred Stavola for membership, and Gerry Gibbons directing hospitality. Sam Miloro is now the director of publicity, with John DeMado as program director, Mike Levino as sergeant-at-arms, and Ed Crane as the club’s webmaster.
Best of luck to all of these gentlemen as they help the Marco Men’s Club continue to flourish and grow.
