Almost 2 years ago, the Marco Island Historical Society (MIHS) in partnership with the University of North Carolina-Greensboro, launched the Marco Memory Project. As the project draws to a close, we would like to thank the over 60 participants who identified 198 people, places, dates and events in MIHS Collections photographs that were previously missing context.
In appreciation for your part in preserving the history and heritage of Marco Island, the MIHS will conduct a live prize drawing on our Facebook page on January 15th that will include the names of every individual who has participated in the project. Our winner will receive signed copies of “Images of America: Marco Island” and “Images of Modern America: Marco Island” that feature historical images from our collections. Thank you again for your interest in saving Marco Island’s history!
Send any additional submissions to firstname.lastname@example.org by January 14th to be entered into the drawing.
